Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28), a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, announced $5,381,454 in federal funding for Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).

The funding comprises of three separate awards:

• $2,999,053 is awarded for TAMIU’s Student Emotional and Academic Success project to improve the social, emotional, and academic needs of students
• $1,489,619 is awarded for TAMIU’s Nurse Education, Practice, Quality, and Retention Simulation program to provide and enhance quality nursing and healthcare education in Webb County
• $892,782 is awarded for TAMIU’s STEM-Squared program to provide resources for STEM-related and engineering programming
