Rep. Cuellar Announces Nearly $1 Million in Federal Funding for Siesta Shores Water Control and Improvement District

Zapata, TX – U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced $972,600 in federal funding for improvements and renovations to the Siesta Shores Water Control and Improvement District. More than 1,800 residents will benefit from this funding and subsequent water supply improvements. The project will include the replacement of the collapsed clear well tank (new tank: 167,000 gallons), the renovation of an existing standpipe, the replacement of the high service motors and pumps, and the installation of new piping to connect the new tank to the existing one. “Nearly 1,800 residents will benefit from the improvements to the water supply—a project that will be completed within the year. I will continue my work in Washington to provide the necessary resources for safe, effective and necessary clean water solutions for the residents in Zapata County and across Texas’ 28th Congressional District,” Congressman Cuellar said. The breakout of funding is below: USDA Colonia Grant—$730,500 Supplemental Grant—$220,100 USDA Rural Development Loan—$22,000 TOTAL: $972,600 ### Congressman Henry Cuellar is a senior member of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee.
