KGNS: TxDOT Holds Public Meeting To Conduct Passenger Rail Study
Laredo, TX,
August 11, 2016
As plans move forward to possibly build a passenger rail in south Texas through Oklahoma, congressman Henry Cuellar encourages residents to get involved.
The Texas Department of Transportation held a public meeting to present the Texas-Oklahoma Passenger Rail Study, a study made to determine the feasibility of developing the 850 mile-long rail service. Cuellar says public meetings give the public the opportunity to speak up about concerns- a Tuesday night's meeting congressman says people from both side of the border spoke on the issue. "We got to talk to people from our area, but also people from Monterrey, we had people there from Monterrey there and from Nuevo Leon and they came in to talk about this project", said Cuellar. Cuellar says the study presented is just a planning level and more studies would need to be done. Public meetings and comments are set up by TxDot. http://www.kgns.tv/content/news/TxDot-389814202.html |
