Emergency Funds Needed to Fight Border Violence

Texans Can Trade Up Appliances with Rebates

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today announced that Texans can start applying for the Texas Trade Up Appliance Rebate Program beginning Wednesday, April 7, 2010. The state-run appliance rebate program will provide $23 million worth of rebates towards the purchase of more energy-efficient, cost-saving home appliances. Cuellar Votes Yes to Health Care Reform, Will Deliver Coverage and Drive Down Premiums

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today voted in support of the landmark health care reform plan, H.R. 4872, the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010. The bill will expand coverage to 5.9 million uninsured Texans, including 1.4 million children and 202,500 uninsured individuals in the 28th Congressional District. The legislation also makes unprecedented investments in Medicare, provides affordability credits for small businesses and bars insurance companies from discriminating against individuals with pre-existing conditions or illnesses. San Antonio Delegation Announces $41 Million for Murphy VA Medical Center Upgrades

Today, the San Antonio Congressional Delegation including Congressmen Charles Gonzalez (TX-20), Lamar Smith (TX-21), Ciro Rodriguez (TX-23) and Henry Cuellar (TX-28), announced over $41 million in federal funding contracts to make vital upgrades to the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Included in the funding is a $37.2 million construction contract to build the new veterans’ Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center (PRC). Read more »
