Cuellar Congratulates Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent for Promotion to National Deputy Chief of U.S. Border Patrol

Washington, DC—Today, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) released the following statement after it was announced that Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent, Matthew Hudak, was promoted to National Deputy Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol: “Chief Patrol Agent Hudak has spent 24 years dedicated to protecting border communities. He understands the action on the ground and works with his colleagues to enforce our federal immigration laws and prevent crime, including human trafficking and drug smuggling. I applaud the U.S. Border Patrol for promoting Chief Hudak to National Deputy Chief. He will serve with honor and integrity. I look forward to continue working with Chief Hudak in his new role in Washington, DC,” said Congressman Cuellar. Chief Hudak has served with the Border Patrol since 1997 when he began his career at the Harlingen Station in the McAllen Sector (now known as Rio Grande Valley Sector). Chief Hudak has served in many locations and positions during his career to include Douglas, AZ, Washington D.C., Cotulla, TX, Laredo, TX, Del Rio, TX and Marfa, TX. ### Congressman Henry Cuellar is a senior member of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee.
