In response to the news that the Department of Veterans Affairs will shift veterans’ medical records to the system used by the Department of Defense, Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) said: “I am glad that the Department of Veterans Affairs has taken the next step to streamline the relationship between the military and veteran health care systems. This has been a years-long process of smoothing the transition out of the military, so our servicemembers can more quickly and easily access the VA health care they have earned. By bringing the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs onto the same electronic medical records system, veterans are less likely to slip through the cracks. If any veterans or military family members in my community need assistance with the VA, they should contact my local office in their area. My staff are ready and able to help.” Laredo Office Mission Office Rio Grande City Office San Antonio Office |
