WASHINGTON (Gray DC) ---Four months after terror struck Paris, the Islamic State claimed more attacks in Brussels, Belgium Tuesday. With the international community on high alert after roughly 30 were killed, members of Congress discussed how the U.S. should proceed.

The terror has Congress clamoring for answers once again. Answers as to how the United States can keep the international community, and the homeland, safe.

"We can’t be weak in our position that we are intent to destroy and totally defeat and eradicate terrorism around the world, and we have not yet put forth that kind of message,” said Congressman Jody Hice (R-GA).

Hice thinks the U.S. has a weak stance against terrorism and that it’s confusing the international community.

Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX), a former CIA operative, says the focus should be on the immigration crisis in Europe.

"I think this is going to harden the resolve of many of our European allies,” said Hurd. "I think this is going to make them rethink some of their policies and how they handle border security in their country.”

Brussels, a symbol of international cooperation, has now seen terror. These lawmakers fear these large attacks will continue if the U.S. fails to take charge.

"When they send that type of message, they’re saying they can reach anywhere,” said Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX). "Especially in a place like Brussels.”

Congressmen Ralph Abraham (R-LA) says U.S. citizens need to remain vigilant while the U.S. and its allies combat this threat.

"We need to be the hunter,” said Abraham. "We need to go after them. We don’t want to wait for another event to happen like this.”

Lawmakers say they are with President Obama when he said he wants these attackers brought to justice.
