Cubans crossing the southern border into the U.S. are defying all law and order, literally.

Just in the last six months, some 26,000 Cubans have poured into the country and are all essentially given a pass to stay, according to a report by the Washington Examiner.

According to Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, 93,000 Cubans have crossed into the U.S. in the last two years and are allowed to stay, something he told Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Sarah Saldana needed to end.

“I still want to see law and order at the border,” Cuellar said at a House Appropriations Subcommittee hearing last week.

Cuellar admitted that once Cuban immigrants arrive at the border, whether they are legal or illegally entering the country, they are permitted to stay.

About 24,000 Cubans were admitted to the U.S. in fiscal year 2014; in 2015, that number almost doubled with 43,000 Cubans crossing the border. In this fiscal year, that number has already surpassed 2014’s total number, standing at 26,000 Cubans crossing into the country.
