Congressman Henry Cuellar Confirms National Plan to Deport Undocumented Immigrants

A national plan to start deporting undocumented immigrants is making headlines.

Although the department of homeland security has not commented, a local congressman confirms the movement to FOX 2 news. Mauricio Razo has the details.

I spoke to Representative Henry Cuellar earlier today and he informed me, a plan for deportations is in the works.

The massive deportation plan to deport undocumented immigrants was first reported by the Washington Post.

The people affected by this are the families who fled violence from their country last year, most of them women and children.

“Mainly from Central America but this could apply to any that comes into the U.S. and gets an order of deportation by federal immigration judge.”

According to experts, immigrants who have a record will be some of the first to be deported.

“A lot of felons out there that are under orders of deportation or need to place in deportation proceeding.”

Activists say the government should protect those who have fled their country due violence.

“The people really should be given protection rather than deported back to their areas that they’re fleeing back to poverty back to violence and possibly even death.”

However, according to the law the steps being taken are perfectly legal.

“In these cases the judge has already said they have to leave and that’s what the law is and we need to follow the law.”

According to Department of Homeland Security data, the number of people crossing the border increased 173 percent from October to November in the same period last year.

Very little is known of this plan however Congressman Cuellar confirmed the deportations could start as early as January 2016.
