Congressman French Hill visits border

LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - We know border security is big issue in the presidential election and for U.S. lawmakers right now.

In fact one congressman visited Laredo to address it on Tuesday.

Republican Congressmen French Hill of Arkansas actually came to Laredo with Congressman Henry Cuellar to view the border.

He shares with us his thoughts about some of the ideas he's heard about securing the border.

"One size doesn't fit all, and this idea of building a border wall, building a border fence while that's very helpful in certain parts of the geography it doesn't work everywhere, and it shouldn't be considered a panacea for the challenges we have for a long and complex border", said Hill.

Representative Hill also notes that the country should focus on technology and innovation when it comes to border protection.
