KGNS: TAMIU to receive federal grant of $1.2 million

TAMIU is getting a federal grant of $1.2 million.

The grant will be used by the university's Trio Student Support Serviceshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png, which provides academic assistance to students in need.

The program provides tutoring, counseling, remediation and other support services to low-income, first-generation or studentshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png with disabilities.

The goal is to increase retention and graduation rateshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png, and to foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of every program participant
