Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX28) today issued the following statement following the introduction of a bipartisan, bicameral Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and House Ways and Means Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). The legislation would establish rules for international trade negotiations that will boost exports and grow the American and Texas economies.
“The advancement of new trade policies will expand opportunities for American businesses and workers in a way that is extremely beneficial for our economy, and I look forward to the opportunity to vote for this important, bipartisan TPA legislation,” Congressman Cuellar said. “Reaching across our borders to partners like Mexico brings more jobs and bigger paychecks to states like Texas.” |
