Cuellar Meets With President Calderon in Mexico City

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) returned late Wednesday from a senior congressional delegation visit to Mexico City for meetings with President Felipe Calderon and other high-ranking government officials to discuss the future of the Mérida Initiative, ongoing border security and the recent escalation in southern border violence along the Rio Grande. Texans Can Trade Up Appliances with Rebates

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today announced that Texans can start applying for the Texas Trade Up Appliance Rebate Program beginning Wednesday, April 7, 2010. The state-run appliance rebate program will provide $23 million worth of rebates towards the purchase of more energy-efficient, cost-saving home appliances. Cuellar Votes Yes to Health Care Reform, Will Deliver Coverage and Drive Down Premiums

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) today voted in support of the landmark health care reform plan, H.R. 4872, the Health Care and Education Affordability Reconciliation Act of 2010. The bill will expand coverage to 5.9 million uninsured Texans, including 1.4 million children and 202,500 uninsured individuals in the 28th Congressional District. The legislation also makes unprecedented investments in Medicare, provides affordability credits for small businesses and bars insurance companies from discriminating against individuals with pre-existing conditions or illnesses.
