New Rules to Help Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress

Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) applauded the Department of Veterans Affairs for simplifying the application process for veterans filing for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) benefits and health care services. The new procedures, effective this week, will significantly reduce the information a veteran needs to submit when claiming PTSD.

Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) voted to extend over $4 billion worth of vitally important tax cuts to hard-working families and supported legislation to fund the Department of Defense though 2011, including funding to create a new South Texas Joint Training Center in Tilden, Texas, for the Texas Air and Army National Guard. Both bills passed the House late Friday before Congress adjourned to recognize Memorial Day.

San Antonio Delegation Announces $41 Million for Murphy VA Medical Center Upgrades

Today, the San Antonio Congressional Delegation including Congressmen Charles Gonzalez (TX-20), Lamar Smith (TX-21), Ciro Rodriguez (TX-23) and Henry Cuellar (TX-28), announced over $41 million in federal funding contracts to make vital upgrades to the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Included in the funding is a $37.2 million construction contract to build the new veterans’ Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center (PRC).

House Passes Troop Funding Plus Jobs Package to Save and Create Jobs
