Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28) hosted an informational webinar on funding opportunities for law enforcement. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office and Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture discussed a range of opportunities for eligible entities, including:

• Equipment Purchase and Maintenance
• Training and Education
• Facility Improvements
• Preparedness and Planning
• Employment Opportunities

A Q&A period followed the agencies’ presentations.

Dr. Cuellar is a strong supporter of law enforcement. He recently announced $1,875,000 in federal funds to hire 15 police officers in Laredo, and $6,319,726 to hire 50 police officers and improve law enforcement mental health in San Antonio.
