Today, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced $33,067,270 for York International Corporation to boost commercial and residential heat pump manufacturing across three manufacturing sites, including San Antonio, Texas. The award will enable York International Corporation to expand manufacturing capabilities and create jobs in San Antonio’s East Side. This award, funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, the largest climate investment in history, will bolster national security, boost energy independence, lower consumer energy costs, and improve energy efficiency in San Antonio. “Last year, I voted for the Inflation Reduction Act to deliver lower energy costs and create jobs in South Texas. We’re seeing the results of that today. Thank you to the Department of Energy for their work on this important initiative,” said Dr. Cuellar, a Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee. “I also appreciate that this will help create union jobs. In Congress, I will continue to fight to lower our energy costs and deliver good-paying jobs for our community.” For more information on the DOE’s announcement, click here. ### |
