Rep. Cuellar Announces Funding for South Texas on Two-Year Anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Today, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28) announced over $1.2 billion in federal funding for South Texas on the two-year anniversary of President Biden signing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This landmark law has provided critical funding for South Texas roads, broadband, water systems, airports, and legacy pollution cleanup. These projects are improving quality of life and creating good-paying jobs. “The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has had a major impact on the 28th Congressional District of Texas. The federal funds I helped secure ensures South Texans have the necessary infrastructure to get to and from home, work, and school safely, and primes our communities for economic development and growth,” said Dr. Cuellar, a Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee. “I helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in 2021 to revamp our infrastructure, and we will continue to see the results of this law for years to come. Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding has also been used to plug 27 orphan wells and has saved 71,000 households roughly $25.6 million on broadband costs in TX-28.
