Pleasanton, TX – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced $4,099,500 in American Rescue Plan funding to Atascosa Health Center. These funds, awarded through the Health Resources and Services Administration, will help to support COVID-19 vaccination and services for vulnerable populations in our community. “Atascosa Health Center plays a critical role in making sure vulnerable populations have access to health care, especially as we continue to face this pandemic,” said Congressman Cuellar. “These critical funds will allow Gateway to expand COVID-19 vaccination, testing, and treatment; deliver needed preventive and primary health care services to those at a higher risk for COVID-19; and expand health centers’ operational capacity, including modifying and improving infrastructure and adding mobile units.” “As a senior member of the Appropriations Committee, I will continue to secure additional funding for our community health centers so they are able to provide high-quality and affordable health care to American families. I would like to thank Monty Small, CEO of Atascosa Health Center, and the rest of his staff for their constant commitment in continued care for patients during these unprecedented times.” Congressman Cuellar voted for the American Rescue Plan, landmark, life-saving legislation that is providing urgently-needed resources to defeat the virus, put vaccines in people’s arms, money into families’ pockets, children safely back into classrooms and people back to work. For a link to the original article, click here. |
