Washington, D.C. – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) released the following statement regarding the FDA’s first emergency use authorization for a coronavirus vaccine in the United States:

“This incredible and hopeful news is due to our nation’s scientists, researchers, and doctors who produced an effective vaccine in record time.

“Now, it is critical that we ensure distribution of vaccines is rapid, fair and equitable. I am committed to fighting for our vulnerable communities, including Hispanic populations, that have been hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As a nation, we must continue to practice health guidelines- wearing a mask, social distancing, & staying home- so we can save thousands of lives while we wait for distribution.”
