MISSION, Texas (KVEO) — Federal funds have been announced for Hidalgo County to support law enforcement.

The funding comes through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Operation Stonegarden Grant Program (OPSG), said a release.

“Border security in Texas requires a variety of strategies and resources as well as coordination on the federal, state, and local level,” said Congressman Henry Cuellar in the press release.

The funding will be used to fund equipment, over-time pay and support interagency operations.
