KVEO: Congressman Cuellar’s nominee from Sharyland receives acceptance into the US Air Force Academy

MISSION, Texas – Congressman Henry Cuellar’s nominee, Aneli Peña, from Sharyland High School received her acceptance into the U.S. Air Force Academy. “Acceptance into our nation’s service academies and prep schools is competitive, and I take the responsibility of nominating students very seriously,” said Congressman Cuellar. “I only select those I consider the best and brightest, and I am happy to say that Aneli is one of those students. I wish her the best of luck in this new chapter and am certain that she will have great success in her future endeavors. I’d like to thank her parents, Antonio and Laura Peña, Principal of Sharyland High School Lori Ann Garza, and her counselor Michael Ledesma for contributing to Aneli’s success.” The press release said, the congressman nominates students from Texas’ 28th District for the nation’s service academies and prep schools. Candidates interested in seeking a nomination from the congressman’s office to one of these academies must request a copy of the application packet in addition to applying directly to the Academy’s Admissions office, said the release.
