KTSA:Clinton Set to Answer Tough Questions

Clinton Set to Answer Tough Questions

Hillary Clinton readies to testify in front of the House Benghazi Committee on Thursday.

“I think we’re going to see Hillary Clinton being very cautious,” Rice University’s Mark Jones said.

And he thinks Clinton will try to not give Republicans any ammunition against her and prove “that she herself did nothing wrong nor did the government do anything wrong.”

Jones said you can expect a well-prepared Clinton, who will surely be pressed on the email issue.

He’s sure lawyers and consultants have advised her how to answer “in a way that will be somewhat evasive that will not provide any ammunition that Republicans can use against her on the campaign trail, between now and November of 2016.”

Meanwhile–both Democrats and Republicans in Congress will be watching closely.

“I hope she’s ready to answer all of those questions, I hope members ask all of the questions–and then–after this–if there’s nothing else, let’s go ahead and move on–we have so many other issues to address” said Congressman Henry Cuellar.

Across the aisle, Congressman Will Hurd said it’s all about the truth.

“We want to make sure this kind of thing doesn’t happen again in the future” Hurd said.
