YOUR VALLEY VOICE: Legislative Report Card Luncheon to feature Valley Elected Officials

Session is over at the State Capital and several bills will have a major affect on the Rio Grande Valley.  The RGV Hispanic Chamber will host their annual “Legislative Report Card Luncheon” so that the community can attend and hear a report from the Valley’s Elected Officials on the bills that passed and how they will affect the Valley on Wednesday, July 15th at The Club at Cimarron in Mission.  In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to direct questions and/or express their concerns to the elected officials.  The luncheon is scheduled from 11:30am to 1:30pm.  “This year’s session was very positive for the Rio Grande Valley.” Noted Cynthia M. Sakulenzki/RGVHCC President.  “We encourage everyone to come and hear how the Valley will be affected with this year’s session.”

Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased with sponsors given the opportunity to sit with an elected official during the luncheon, giving them an opportunity to have a personal one-on-one discussion.   Tickets are $35 with sponsorships at $500, $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000. U.S. Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn along with U.S. Congressmen Henry Cuellar, Ruben Hinojosa and Filemon Vela have been invited along with all of the Senators and Representatives who represent the Rio Grande Valley.  Each will give a 3 to 5 minute report.  Those not able to attend will send a video answering 2 to 3 questions that were presented to them by the RGVHCC Board of directors.  A Staff representative will also be available to accept any questions and/or comments to be delivered back to their boss.
