TX representatives discuss job growth in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO - The Chamber of Commerce met with business leaders and trade association members Monday to discuss how to increase trade in San Antonio.

There are $280 billion in exports from Texas every year, and Congressman Henry Cuellar said San Antonio plays a big part in that.

"Coming down to San Antonio is important because San Antonio and Texas have been a boom area," said Cuellar. "If you look at one third of all the jobs that have been created, private jobs that have been created in the last few years in the United States, Texas is right there and San Antonio has played a very important role."

Cuellar said trade is not the only thing booming in San Antonio, but energy production is also growing.
