With the deadline for signing up under the Affordable Care Act, frequently referred to as ‘Obamacare’, only a few days away, Congressman Henry Cuellar encourages South Texas residents within his corresponding district to make the effort to enroll.

“Nationwide we’re at 4 million people have signed up for [health care] since October of last year.” said Cuellar in an exclusive interview with ENLACE NEWS. “In Texas, we’re number one in having the most uninsured [residents]. We want to encourage people in Starr County, Hidalgo County, Zapata County and the surrounding areas to please contact our office, or better yet, they can contact the toll free number 1-800-318-2596, which is open 24/7.”

“We’ve got the deadline coming up, March 31st, so I want to encourage people to take advantage of this. Like I’ve always said, I voted for healthcare [reform]. I support it. We do need to make a few changes to it, but overall it’s a good bill and right now we need to focus on getting people enrolled.”
