McAllen Monitor: Affordable Care Act bus tour visits McAllen Public Library on Wednesday

Affordable Care Act bus tour visits McAllen Public Library on Wednesday

McALLEN — A bus tour promoting the Affordable Care Act and seeking to bring onboard uninsured people for health insurance as required under the law will make a stop in McAllen on Wednesday.

Officials with Enroll America — a national nonprofit seeking to sign up people for healthcare coverage — will roll into town about 10 a.m., hoping to educate the Rio Grande Valley’s uninsured population about the law and get them a ticket to an insurance plan. The bus will stop at the McAllen Public Library at 23rd and Nolana streets. In attendance will be representatives from the offices of U.S. Reps. Rubén Hinojosa, D-Mercedes, and Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo.

Workers will also be on-hand to help people lacking health insurance sign up for coverage.
