Dear Friends,
I would like to make sure you are aware of an opportunity provided by the State of Texas to receive surplus military equipment for your local Law Enforcement Agency.
The Texas 1033 Military Surplus Property Program allows the Secretary of Defense to transfer excess Department of Defense (DoD) personal property, such as weapons, aircraft, and armored response vehicles, to Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies, with special emphasis given to counter drug and counter terrorism. If you qualify and choose to participate, your organization will become one of over 13,000 local LEAs who have taken advantage of this unique program.
Additionally, DPS offers quarterly training sessions where you can get hands-on practice with registration, policies and procedures, requesting property and file maintenance. Visit the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) website to view the full application.
Police cruisers are among the equipment that is available through the Texas 1033 Military Surplus Program .
The next training session will be held on October 4, 2013 in Austin, TX. To register, follow this link or contact:
