Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX28) released the following statement on President Obama’s decision to seek congressional approval for military action against Syria:

“I applaud President Obama’s decision to seek congressional authorization for military action against Syria.  I have called upon the President to take such an action over the past few days, and I am encouraged to see that the American people’s elected representatives in Congress will now have the opportunity to fully debate such a serious step,” said Congressman Henry Cuellar.    

“The chemical weapons attack perpetrated against the citizens of Syria, including women and children, was a crime.  It is now time for us to get the full facts, briefings, and intelligence reports.  Only then can we make an informed and thoughtful decision as to whether we can support a limited strike with no on-the-ground deployment of combat troops.”
