Cuellar: Mexico should be part of Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations

PHARR, April 5 - U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar says he is urging U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk to support Mexico’s inclusion in negotiations on setting up the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

 

On a visit to the Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday, Cuellar told the Guardian that the TPP would include trade agreements for industrial goods, agriculture and textiles, and digital technologies. Regulatory systems would be put in place for TPP members to ensure greater compatibility, he said, which would allow U.S. companies to operate more seamlessly in TPP markets.
