Congressman Henry Cuellar issues the following statement on the death of Carlos Marin, Commissioner of the International Boundary and Water Commission, and other officials: "Carlos was a friend to all who knew him and was a person who truly cared about the well-being of residents along the U.S.-Mexico border. He was a true public servant. I had the opportunity to first work with Carlos on a sewer treatment plant project in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, in the early 1990s, and most recently with the levee situation in the Rio Grande Valley and a low level weir project that we were about to embark with the City of Laredo. His positive outlook even in the most difficult of situations played a big role in the outcome of all projects he commanded. "My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of those lost." |
