CUELLAR STATEMENT ON RELEASE OF STRATEGIC PETROLEUM RESERVES

Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) released the following statement today after the Obama Administration announced that the U.S. and its partners in the International Energy Agency would release a total of 60 million barrels of oil onto the world market to offset the demand of oil. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Jaime Zapata Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) Act of 2011, H.R. 915, named after ICE Special Agent Jaime Zapata was voted out of the House Homeland Security Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee and heads for a vote in the House Homeland Security Committee, putting the bill one step closer to becoming law.
