Congressional Report

Dear Friends,

The tragic news this week from Brussels reminds us that we must remain vigilant and strong amidst new and real threats around the world. My thoughts go out to the victims of those senseless and cowardly attacks in Belgium.

During this Easter break, I hope you share quality time and good memories with your family and loved ones.

Below, please find information about the work I am doing for you, both in Washington and in the district.

Last week I met with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Sara Saldaña during a Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee hearing to discuss the agency's hiring process and issues regarding transparency in immigration facilities and increased numbers of unaccompanied immigrant minors at the southern border.

I also met with Center for Disease Control and Prevention Principal Deputy Director Anne Schuchat to discuss Zika virus prevention, representatives from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in D.C. to discuss U.S.-Israeli relations, and representatives from health care industries in my district.

In this issue you'll also find outreach efforts from my offices in the district and warnings on how to avoid IRS scams during this tax season.

As always, thank you for your time and please reach out to any of my offices if you need help with a federal issue.
