Dear [salutation],
Today, I announced $113,000 in federal funding for Jim Hogg County Airport.
Previous grant funding was used to repave parts of the airport and purchase a new Automated Weather Observing System, which helps our community track important weather information, like wind speeds, rainfall amounts, and visibility.
Jim Hogg County Airport previously received $822,072 from a TxDOT program - $739,864 of which were federal funds and $82,208 from the county. This money was used for engineering design, pavement repairs, new markings for pavement, and a seal coat surface treatment.
A more efficient airport means more money into our local economy. It also improves our emergency services.
I would like to thank the County Judge Juan Carlos Guerra, the county commissioners, and the Airport Manager Clark Rossi for their important work in serving Jim Hogg County.
I have fought for Jim Hogg County. In Fiscal Year 2024, I secured $1,000,000 in community project funding for the County’s Emergency Response Center. In fiscal year 2023, I secured $1,285,000 in Community Project Funding for repairs and enhancements to the Jim Hogg County Kohler Park.
