CONGRESSMAN HENRY CUELLAR WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU

Congressman Cuellar voted ‘no’ on the Economic Stabilization Act on September 29, 2008, because he felt it was rushed and that it didn’t take into account your concerns and those of other taxpayers.  A new, broader-based economic recovery plan is now being considered by lawmakers, and Congressman Cuellar wants to hear your thoughts.

Would you support improved, broader-based economic recovery legislation that:

  • Ensures protection for taxpayer dollars by capping CEO bailouts and requires taxpayer’s repayment in full?

  • Reforms the financial markets to the extent that we don’t find ourselves in this situation again?

  • Increases the FDIC ceiling on insured deposits from $100,000 to $250,000 so more money can be deposited into banks with federal guarantees?

  • Extends the optional deduction for state sales taxes, which is valuable to residents of states without income taxes like Texas?

  • Prevents 22 million tax payers from paying the alternative minimum tax, originally meant for the wealthy?

Please take a moment to let Congressman Cuellar know your opinion by clicking here.
