For over a year, we have been battling the coronavirus pandemic and economic fallout. However, with the American Rescue Plan, many Americans have already begun receiving much-needed relief.

It is my top priority to ensure that you know how this relief package will directly impact your household and community. Therefore, I've embarked on a district tour to visit each of our nine counties and meet with community-members to hear your thoughts and answer any of your questions.

Rep. Cuellar Visits La Salle County

On Friday, March 29, I held a 'Coffee with the Congressman' in Encinal. I announced $2,490,000 in American Rescue Plan funds to La Salle County for their recovery efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, schools throughout the county will receive $3,771,000 in American Rescue Plan funds so they can work to safely reopen and make up for lost time in the classroom.

Rep. Cuellar Discusses Migration on CBS Face the Nation

On Sunday, March 28, I joined Face the Nation to discuss the surge of migrants at the border and how Border Patrol facilities are overwhelmed with unaccompanied minors and family units. It is critical that we support Border Patrol so they are able to process unaccompanied children as quick as possible and then safely transfer them to HHS facilities.

Rep. Cuellar Announces $12,000 Grant to LULAC Councils

Earlier on Monday, I joined Laredo’s LULAC Councils and Constellation Brands to announce a $12,000 grant that will help young LULAC leaders and students pay for college expenses. Congratulations to LULAC Councils 12, 23, 22387, 14, 624, and 22413 on receiving these funds and thank you Constellation Brands on your commitment to bettering our community!

Rep. Cuellar Discusses American Rescue Plan Funds for Zapata County

On Friday, March 26, I met with constituents and local officials in Zapata to highlight the vital resources that families will receive from the American Rescue Plan. I will continue to work hard for the people of Zapata, and the rest of South Texas, to ensure this relief quickly reaches those in need.

Watershed Carwash in Windcrest

On Friday, March 26, my Constituent Services Representative/Outreach Coordinator from my San Antonio office, Kendall Hayes, presented a Certificate of Recognition to Watershed Carwash. The owners expanded their local business and opened a new location in Windcrest; the grand opening was sponsored by the Windcrest Economic Development Corporation. Congratulations Watershed Carwash and I look forward to seeing your future success!

TX-28 Vaccine Allocations

Through the American Rescue Plan, we are tirelessly working to get shots in arms! More doses of the COVID-19 vaccines are coming to South Texas, and my office and I are fighting to ensure that all who want it have access to it.
