Today, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28), a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, released the following statement after voting to pass H.R. 8070, the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

“Today, I voted to pass critical legislation that prioritizes American national security while authorizing historic funding for our troops and their families,” said Dr. Cuellar. “The FY25 NDAA authorizes a 19.5% pay raise for our junior enlisted servicemembers, and a 4.5% raise for all other servicemembers, which is critical in today’s economy. Still, there is more work to be done to make this bill bipartisan. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to reach an agreement that provides for our military community and ensures American national security.”
