South Texas food bank kids cafe program honor veterans

LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - Children from the community received a lesson in history as some veteranshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png are honored.

Robert Vidaurri was among the veterans honored at Tuesday night'seventhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png.

The event was organized by the South Texas foodhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png bank kids cafe program.

They hope children can learnhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png to appreciate the sacrifice veterans made for our country.

"We want children to meet these people instead of learninghttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png about them in a history book", said Dr. Jessie Olivarez.

"It was just a way for the community to say, we'll never forget you. We know what you've done. We know how important it is", Said Richard Peña Raymond.

State representative Richard Raymond was the keynote speakerhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png.

Congressman Henry Cuellar also sent some congressional certificates to congratulate the veterans.
