Three ‘Obamacare’ Workshops to be Held in Starr County in Dec.

Starr County

Congressman Henry Cuellar recently announced that his office will hold three health insurance enrollment workshops in Hidalgo County over the next four weeks. Residents of Starr County who do not have health insurance can sign up between November 15th and February 15th, 2015. Those residents seeking health coverage starting in 2015 must enroll in a plan by December 15th.

“Millions of people across the country and in Texas have already enrolled in health insurance,” said Congressman Cuellar. “Our communities in South Texas and on the border have among the lowest rates of health insurance coverage in the country as well as some of the highest rates of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and other issues. Having health insurance means peace of mind not just for you but for those who depend on you – children, parents, and grandparents. With the opening of this year’s open enrollment period, I want to encourage Starr County who do not have insurance to start looking at your options early and to reach out to my office and the local organizations listed here should you have any questions.”

The workshops will take place as follows: Tuesday & Wednesday, December 2nd & 3rd, at the Starr County South Texas College General Academics Building E, located on 142 N. FM 3167 in Rio Grande City, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, December 13th, at Veterans Memorial Elementary School located on 4772 E. Highway 83 in Roma, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, December 9th, at San Isidro High School located 5175 FM 1017, in San Isidro, from10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
