CONGRESSMAN HENRY CUELLAR REMEMBERS THE VICTIMS AND LOVED ONES OF SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS

Congressman Henry Cuellar issued the following statement today in acknowledgment of the anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

"As we mark the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we remember the thousands of innocent men, women and children who lost their lives that day, and we extend our sympathies to their families, friends, and loved ones.

"We also continue to honor the heroic service, actions, and sacrifices of those first responders, law enforcement personnel, volunteers, and others who aided the innocent victims and, in so doing, bravely risked and in many cases sacrificed their own lives.

"Over the last seven years, thousands of Americans, both in and out of government, have worked tirelessly to improve our nation’s security and protect our people. Today, we remain steadfast in our determination to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat terrorist organizations.

"The attacks placed the eyes of the world upon us, and we must show the world what we have learned from this tragedy. Amidst memorial services, prayers, and remembrance for those who are sadly no longer with us, we should also look to those who remain, our friends, family, and neighbors, and remember the value of each life.

"To all the brave men and women who continue to protect the nation against terrorists, I say thank you. You are not forgotten. And to those who lost a loved one, my prayers continue to be with you."
