Washington | Tony Wen, Press Secretary (202-856-8750), February 29, 2024

Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar, Ph.D. (TX-28) hosted an informational webinar on water and wastewater infrastructure funding opportunities. Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) discussed a range of opportunities for eligible entities, including:

  • Water planning;
  • Water infrastructure financing;
  • Water conservation and drought response; and,
  • Wetland restoration.

“Water is life, and quality water infrastructure in South Texas means our communities can continue to grow,” said Dr. Cuellar, a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee. “In Congress, I will continue to secure federal dollars for investment in South Texas water infrastructure. Thank you to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Texas Water Development Board for showcasing the many opportunities available to ensure South Texas cities, towns, and counties have reliable access to water.”
